This a super fun game for players to work on their battle and compete as well as making sure they are aware of their offensive options.
SETUP:
- This is a half ice game so the nets should be set up cross ice style with a goalie in each.
- The two players going will be in the zone. The two players next in line for each time will be along the goal line as passing options. Everyone else in line can stay on their side of the blue line and be a passing option there.
- There should be a coach with pucks in the middle of the blue line.
HOW THE GAME WORKS:
- The players in zone will play a 2v2, if they get the puck, they can pass it to any of their support along the goal line or blue line to help them generate offense.
- This game is won by most goals scored.
- It is up to the coach whether they must pass to a teammate first before being on offense or if they can get the puck and score without passing.
COACHING POINTS:
- Because this is a 2v2 game, the only real coaching point is making sure that when players are making passes to their teammates, they are making hard and quick tape to tape passes, keeping their eyes up, and communicating. Also making sure that if they do pass to a teammate, they move to open ice to give them better support.
