This video provides three quick coaching points to improve your slap shot technique.
Coaching Points:
-
Hand Positioning: Place your bottom hand about 3/4 of the way down your stick, slightly past the halfway point. This positioning will give you better leverage and control when executing a slap shot.
-
Cup the Blade: Keep your blade cupped when making contact with the puck to prevent it from sliding off the blade or losing accuracy. An open blade can cause the puck to sail or go off-target.
-
Follow Through with Your Shoulders: As you follow through, drive your shoulders towards the net. This helps generate power and ensures that your shot is on target.
Practicing these three elements will help you achieve a more powerful and accurate slap shot.
